Rose quartz is a mineral that is commonly formed in igneous rocks (or volcanic rocks) as magma cools. It can also less commonly be found and formed in sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. The quartz crystals form inside rocks as silicon dioxide crystallises as it cools within the rock, just like other types of quartz, however, the rose-pink colour of rose quartz comes from the inclusion of titanium combining with the silicon dioxide during the cooling process.
Feng Shui:
In Feng Shui, the colour pink is associated with the Kun area of the home (relationship area), so wearing rose quartz is believed to promote:
- Self-care, feminine energy and love
- Positive energy in marriage, partnerships, mothering, self-love, the internal and reproductive organs
- Finding a partner if you’re single
- Healing of the heart chakra
Placing rose quartz in the following areas of your home is said to bring good Feng Shui:
- Your bedroom, specifically the Kun area - to encourage romantic love (but you must have a pair of rose quartz pieces)
- Near your bed or under your heart - to promote healing of the heart
- One rose quartz in your Kun (relationship) area, and one in your Gen (knowledge) area - to heal your own heart and encourage compassion towards yourself
