Kambaba Jasper also known as Crocodile Jasper due to its black and green circular patterns. This variety of jasper is quite rare and is found primarily in Madagascar and South Africa. The name 'Kambaba' comes from the Kambaba River in Madagascar, where it was first discovered and was thought to be a type of stromatolite with inclusions of fossilised algae that were created 22 million years ago. However, it was later discovered that it is actually a variety of rhyolite with the addition of ground green quartz, aegirine and potash inclusions that form in volcanic rock. This stone has long been used by many different cultures for its healing properties. African tribes used it for its calming effect on the mind and emotions, while the ancient Egyptians believed it had the power to protect and heal the physical body.
