Crystal name: Azurite
Best known for: Intuition | Deep insight | Spiritual awareness
Chakra: Third Eye (also supports Crown and Throat)
Metaphysical properties + use:
Azurite is a powerful stone of intuition, inner vision, and higher wisdom. With its rich royal-blue colour, it has long been associated with awakening psychic abilities and expanding consciousness. Often called the “Stone of Heaven,” Azurite enhances meditation, stimulates insight, and clears mental fog.
Energetically, it helps release limiting beliefs and outdated patterns, encouraging truth and self-awareness. Azurite strengthens intuitive perception while supporting honest communication, making it ideal for healers, teachers, and those seeking clarity in life decisions. Its vibration is both activating and stabilising — helping bridge the mind and spirit.
Because of its strong energy, Azurite is often used for short, focused meditation sessions rather than prolonged energetic exposure.
Chemical composition: Cu₃(CO₃)₂(OH)₂
Mohs Hardness: 3.5 – 4
Geological Formation:
Azurite forms in the oxidised zones of copper ore deposits, developing through the weathering and alteration of copper sulfide minerals. It often occurs alongside malachite, chrysocolla, and other secondary copper minerals. The crystal grows in monoclinic prismatic formations or as massive nodules and botryoidal aggregates. Its intense blue colour results from its high copper content. Over time, Azurite can naturally alter into green malachite through further oxidation processes. Significant deposits are found in Morocco, Namibia, Australia, Mexico, and the United States.
Feng Shui:
Azurite carries strong Water element energy, symbolising depth, wisdom, and flow.
